PHP Developer for Startup Incubator

Our client is a successful tech startup incubator in Australia that co-founds, builds and invests in web businesses. Their unique business model helps founders by putting in some equity and working with them on all aspects of the company to ultimately grow their small ideas into big businesses. They are regarded as experts in their very cool space and their work has earned international media coverage.
They are looking for a PHP Developer with a real passion for building web apps for real people. This person loves the start-up space and the dynamic fast paced environment that comes with it. They use the latest best-practice methods in processes and coding standards. They really enjoy the challenge, teamwork and the impact they can make.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake PHP software development on existing and new projects
- Work with the Head of Engineering to define best-practices for all software development processes and work with the team to ensure they are followed
- Work to improve and ensure that the output from the development team is world class and something that you are proud of
Therefore you must have:
- Excellent PHP skills
- Excellent MySQL skills
- Experience using RAD frameworks such as CakePHP or Zend Framework
- Experience building web apps
Bonus:
- Mac lover!
- Knowledge of client-side languages and frameworks (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/jQuery UI)
- Experience with MySQL database administration
- Experience with cloud services such as Ninefold, Rackspace, AWS or similar
- Knowledge of deployment best practices and automation
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
