I would like you to join me as I take you on a European Startup tour. As I am French, let’s start with France - more specifically Paris - with the aim to understand what is going on there; what the landscape looks like and most of all where would be the best place for a start up to be created, incubated, accelerated, funded and put on a sky rocket.

In future instalments we will continue the startup journey to Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon and Bucharest.

While the team here at MitchelLake has been busy sourcing leadership and building teams for cutting edge ventures and digital initiatives across the globe, continued growth in our APAC and US operations has encouraged the firm to invest significantly in our own leadership assets.

As an Australian-owned company that now reaches across four continents, MitchelLake is proud of its roots Down Under, and excited by the talent we’ve seen come out of Australia. We’re inspired by local innovators and are continually looking for ways to boost recognition of innovation that is being created right here in Australia via our international networks and operations.

After reading that headline, you're probably thinking, "I'm tired of hearing all of the noise about Silicon Valley and what they've done with the tech industry." I’m sure if you hear about the next thing they’re innovating, you’re going to lose it... But, before you do that, let’s take a minute to ask what everyone is already thinking: “What’s the big deal about Silicon Valley anyway?”

In November I spent 5 days in Dublin in the middle of arguably the largest gathering (and rowdiest, compliments of the free Guinness at the venue) of Tech-focused professionals on the planet: Web Summit. There were more people, more speaking sessions, more pitches, and more hustle and bustle than one could imagine.

In a world full of increasingly short attention spans and wave upon wave of options, when it comes to products and services, never has there been a more important time to be trustworthy and relevant when delivering offerings to us extremely fickle consumers. You really do only have one shot to create an impact and elicit engagement so relevance and timing is everything. Lucky it is also a world that is full of exciting, evolving technologies that enable the ability to deliver something compelling to cut through the noise.
