The leadership read

Banijay has crossed a structural threshold. Before Tipico, it operated betting and entertainment as adjacent businesses scaled primarily through Betclic in France and a handful of other markets. Post-integration, it holds the dominant sportsbook position in Germany — Europe's largest regulated betting market — alongside a top-tier operation in France, where the combined GGR tax burden across products sits materially above 40%. That is not an additive business; it is a materially different one, with dual-market regulatory exposure, distinct product architectures, and a unified player base that now needs to be managed as a single commercial entity rather than two separate brands. Of the 12 M&A signals tracked in the last 90 days, two are directly relevant to this corridor: IG Group's acquisition of Underdog in US daily fantasy, and PIF's EU-cleared $55bn move on Electronic Arts. Together with Banijay-Tipico, they illustrate a sustained pattern of betting and entertainment operators pursuing cross-category scale rather than point-solution growth — consolidating content, distribution, and wagering infrastructure under unified ownership. The strategic logic is consistent: proprietary content libraries and live event IP are increasingly treated as customer acquisition assets, not separate revenue lines. Companies operating at this scale intersection — regulated gaming and content production across multiple European fiscal regimes — face rising demand for commercial and regulatory leadership capable of managing jurisdictional complexity without fragmenting brand coherence, alongside product leadership able to integrate distinct player-engagement platforms into a single data and personalization stack.

In H2, we will enhance the integration processes in our two business units and will start delivering synergies. The addition of Antoine Jouteau to our set up, who will join the group as CEO of sports betting and gaming activities, will be key in this context.
