Graduate Associate – Research and Communications

Title: Graduate Associate, Research & Communications

Location: Sydney or Melbourne.

MitchelLake is an executive search firm that has supported the journeys of thousands of entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and ventures since 2001. We have supported market entry and first in region hires for companies including Square, Optimizely, Deliveroo, Groupon, Pandora Radio, Doordash, Stripe, ASOS, Onetrust, Liveperson, Affiniti, Zipmex, and many more. We have helped secure world-class C-level, board & advisory talent for companies including Catapult Sports, Mighty Kingdom, Immutable, HiPages, Mogul eSports, x15, BCG Digital Ventures. We currently have operations in Australia, Singapore, the United States, UK, and Spain.

One of the ways we create value for our clients is through the research & development of market intelligence that we convert into actionable insights and narratives. For this reason, we place a very high value on both curiosity and storytelling. Curiosity to drive research and investigation into trends, talent, markets, and technologies. Storytelling in the context of representing the market to our clients, and our client’s value proposition and positioning to the market.

Due to continuing growth in our business, we are on the hunt for an energetic, dynamic Graduate Associate to join our amazing team.

This role will enable you to develop your skills and experience to support a diverse career path with Mitchellake and beyond. Whether your ambition is to one day lead a team, become a principal consultant, delivery manager, or a market-facing Partner in a firm, this could be the role for you. Many of our Alumni have also gone on to senior commercial and talent leadership roles with global brands such as Facebook, Uber, Finder, Lever, Fitbit, GoPro, BCG DV, Google, Envato, and Xero (to name a few). Some have also gone on to become executives, founders, and investors in their own right.

We are looking for someone who:

Is dialed into our values – Curiosity, Mindfulness, Partnership, Excellence.

Can balance problem-solving, attention to detail, first-class communication skills, and creative energy.

Has familiarity and comfort with cloud-based platforms and tools for research, collaboration, content creation, and presentation. (Google suite, Canva, Slack, etc…)

Has a keen interest in technology, business, and cultural trends.

Is comfortable working with local and globally remote teams, clients, and candidates.

Can think and work efficiently to produce research, content, and collateral to help support project timelines.

Your role will include:

Research companies, trends, and engagement with executive and expert talent locally and internationally

Production of high quality, visually compelling reports, proposals, and content for both candidate and client audiences

Scheduling and management of communications, face-to-face and virtual meetings between internal and external stakeholders.

If we have captured your interest and you would like to apply, we are doing something just that little bit different.

In addition to sharing your profile, we welcome you to produce an “elevator pitch” (less than 3 minutes in duration) using any format or tools with which you are comfortable. It could be a slide deck, video, audio (podcast), or a written piece. The pitch should cover what makes you great for this role, and what excites you about the opportunity to work with MitchelLake to support the Australian venture and innovation ecosystem.

We will pay $200 to the top five submissions (as voted by our global team) and any other submission we share on our Linkedin company page (but only with your advance permission).

MitchelLake values progressive ideas and diversity in all our endeavors inside and outside the firm. We are an equal opportunity employer and we appreciate the positive impact of different perspectives on our business and our ecosystem.

Please note that we can only consider candidates for this role who currently have a right to work in Australia, are Australian citizens, or are permanent residents of Australia.

If you are interested, please apply, or contact us to find out more.
