Companies reaching this stage of hardware commitment in the consumer-compute corridor face concentrated demand for product leadership at the hardware-software integration layer, commercial leadership with carrier and retail distribution experience, and developer-relations capability that can build an application ecosystem before the device finds a mass-market price point. Those functional areas are where the gap between a product announcement and a product business gets closed.
